Silver hilted Small-Sword

  • Dated: 18th Century

  • Culture: French

  • Measurements: overall length 88 cm

The sword has a straight blade of triangular section, deeply grooved at the base. The first part of the blade is finely chiselled with a lily and motto "Vive le Roy" on a side and a cross and motto "nunquam divella" on the other - both are placed between bands and floral motifs. The sword has a beautiful, silver hilt richly engraved and chiselled with floral motifs, wooden grip with iron wire binding and bands, plus a moor’s heads.
